Sweet Heat Jalapeno Relish Cranberry Sauce
A truly delicious sweet heat spin on traditional cranberry sauce that is super simple to prepare
- 2 Tbsp Heaping, Dad’s Gourmet Foods Candied Jalapeno Relish
- 1/2 Tsp Kosher salt
- 1/2 Cup Light Brown sugar
- 1/2 Cup Granulated sugar (optional; omit if use DGF)
- 1/2 Cup Orange juice
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1/2 Tsp Orange zest
- 12 Ounces Fresh cranberries (1 pkg)
In a large saucepan, combine the candied Jalapeño relish, salt, sugar, orange juice, water and orange zest. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and add cranberries.
Simmer for 15 minutes,, stirring occasionally. Cranberries will pop as they cook, so I kept lid on to retain heat and prevent and splatter onto cooking surfaces from the cranberries popping. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Transfer to a sealed container and fully chill, preferably overnight. The sauce will thicken as it cools. Enjoy!
